Tagboard Producer is a storytelling suite that gives you a cloud-based control room to build your playlist, edit your graphics, themes & panels on the fly, and control every piece of content in real time.

In this article, we'll get you started with how to access Tagboard Producer & getting comfortable with your Production interface. You can also skip ahead if you are looking to:

Accessing Producer

You can access Producer directly from your Tagboard account dashboard. Click on the apps icon in the upper right hand corner, and select 'Producer'.

To access Producer from a tagboard dashboard, click on 'Displays' in the upper right corner.

This will launch a list of options of ways to display your content. Click 'Open Tagboard Producer' in the bottom left corner of the popup.

You can also access Producer directly at producer.tagboard.com.

If this is your first time visiting Producer, you will be prompted to sign in to your Tagboard account. Once you sign in, you can click "New Production" or launch one of your pre-existing timelines.

Managing your Productions

The Producer dashboard will display your productions, with details including the team, creator, created date, and when the production was last modified. You can choose a list or grid view.

Creating a New Production

Click ‘New Production’ in the upper right corner. If you are a part of multiple Tagboard teams, select which account you’d like to create the production within. The title of your production must be between 4 and 60 characters. You also have the options to star your production and add tags.

Starring a Production

This will pin a production to the top of your production dashboard, to allow for quick access to frequently used productions.

Production Details

Clicking on any production will open the details panel on the right side of your screen. Here you can see production details including who is working in a production in real time, to allow for easy remote collaboration.

Deleting a Production

To delete a production, click on the production to open the production details panel. Click the three dots in the upper right corner, and select ‘Delete’. Deleted Productions will be archived for 30 days before they are permanently deleted.

To restore a deleted production during that timeframe, click on ‘Deleted Productions’. Select the production you’d like to restore and click ‘Restore Production’ in the details panel.

Get Familiar with Tagboard Producer

Now that you're in a production, let's get familiar with your Tagboard Producer interface:

  1. Asset Library: This is where you will find all of your content, including your Themes (customized social visualizations), Tagboards of featured real-time content, Smart Panels, and Graphics templates, if applicable. You can click on the pin to unpin the asset library and make more room for your playlist. When the Asset Library is unpinned, hover your mouse over the left side of your screen to bring it back at anytime.

  2. Preview & Live Windows: The preview window is on the left, live window is on the right. You can use the preview window to make sure your content looks exactly how you want it, before you send it live.

  3. Playlist: Tagboard Producer uses a simple drag-and-drop workflow. You'll build out a rundown of content by dragging and dropping content onto your playlist, beneath the preview window.

  4. Graphic/Layer Editor: The Layer Editor allows you to edit your content in real time. Click on any element on your playlist to reveal any editing options in the Layer Editor, located beneath the live window.

Once you have content loaded onto your Playlist, you'll see additional controls at the bottom of the playlist. From left to right:

  1. Background Color Picker: Select the background for overlay displays (ie. lower third or side slab). By default, the background will be transparent. If you are using a chroma key, you can change the background to a green screen or any custom color.

  2. Lock your production: Tagboard Producer allows you to produce in real time, even while the timeline is live. When your production is locked, you will be able to advance between existing posts, but you will not be able to add new posts to your timeline or reorder your content.

  3. Audio controls: Mute and un-mute your entire timeline

  4. Loop Timeline: If selected while the playlist is in 'Play' mode, the playlist will automatically restart from the beginning after the final piece of content

  5. Go Back: Go back to the previous post, without auto-playing video

  6. Play: Automatically cycle through your timeline without clicking through posts. Videos will play out entirely before advancing to the next post. You can control the cycle speed for images. When the timeline is in "play mode", the timeline is automatically locked.

  7. Go Forward: Advance to the next post, without auto-playing the video

  8. Clear Playlist: Click to clear all elements on your Playlist. (NOTE: this will clear all Graphics and Themes that have been updated on your timeline)
